SCARAVELLI  INSPIRED  YOGA

My motivation to teach yoga has developed from a strong connection to various forms of integrated and spontaneous movement.  In my teaching I focus on integrating yoga postures and breathwork into our postural awareness.

I have had the pleasure of working with Scaravelli inspired teachers such as Elizabeth Pauntz, Sandra Sabatini, Diane Long, Sophie Hoare, John Stirk and Gary Carter, whom I completed my teacher training with.

The Scaravelli approach to yoga is detailed, deep and slow. The focus is to unwind the body of tension and connect to what we have already resonating in our bodies  - our natural state of being - which of course is freedom!  The simplistic approach to adjustments enables our experience to become more refined into listening to the ‘song of the body’, so our explorations become joyful and blissful.
My aim is that we all take a keen interest in how our bodies move naturally in spirals, curves, and waves!
?This is how our bodies love to move.

This approach to yoga maintains a relationship with the:

GROUND - to surrender to and connect with it.

BREATH - to deepen awareness and improve the quality of our breathing action.

SPINE -  to release the spinal column, to understand and feel our relationship to gravity which reveals itself naturally in waves, curves and spirals in our body.

I believe that yoga cultivates our awareness on all levels.   It creates balance in our bodies, improves our relationship to the environment and helps us to get to know ourselves.

The way I like to teach is a universal style and a great compliment and companion to other forms of yoga.
My classes are fun and full of variety.
My intention is to help people feel at home within themselves, and so be able to trust and act on intuition and perception.

In my opinion simplicity and lightness in our experience of life is essential. I am passionate about this global style of teaching, therefore I bring into my classes all the inspirations from teachers and guides I have worked with on my travels.
Poetry and ceremonial work is a strong feature in my classes.
I am also inspired by Gabriel Roth’s work with the 5 rhythms and Elena Tonneti’s Birth into Being processes.
