I completed my Scaravelli inspired yoga teacher training with Gary Carter.
I have been privileged to study with Elizabeth Pauntz, Sandra Sabatini, Diane Long, John Stirk, Monica Voss, Sophie Hoare and Joanne Avison.
I also am inspired by Gabrielle Roth and the 5 rhythms dance, Jo Cobbett and Elena Tonetti’s Birth Into Being.
We normally begin the class with breath awareness exercises and then we explore postures deeply so that we can have a greater understanding.
Foot work is an important part of the class, and then we move onto a specific theme for each session.
Encouraging the body to undo itself from tension in spirals and waves is an integral part of the class.
Each theme leads to a final conclusion. The class is very explorative; it gives you permission and time to slow down and feel your way through the posture with awareness, rather than pushing yourself into shapes with force.
I also incorporate partner work which is an important asset to deepen your practice.
My first taste of yoga was practicing with an Iyengar teacher.
Discovering Scaravelli Inspired Yoga offered me firm grounding and gave me the courage to guide others.
The greatest gift I have ever given myself is to have changed my profession and direction in life to become a yoga teacher.
Teaching yoga is a constant learning curve.
I feel nourished by the way classes constantly change. I love to observe participants becoming softer with their intentions and more balanced with their attitude to movement and their body awareness.
