Welcome to the revolution in yoga and creative movement!

Movement is the song of the body.’
— Vanda Scaravelli

Like the roots of a tree, our bodies love to feel grounded. I believe movement comes from the earth through the body and when we allow space, without force, our spine responds into the naturally occurring spirals and waves already present in our body. I also feel that our inner and outer environments are inter connected.

Ideally yoga can be easy. Making space for the body to express maximum efficiency with minimum effort, when we surrender and then yield to gravity and embrace the body’s natural responses. It can therefore require effort and focus to undo our old patterns. At times it’s confrontational and challenging. Playfulness is the route of our explorations.

I encourage myself and others to feel the connection to the earth and consequently release hidden tension through listening and waiting; by “going with the body,” in the words of Vanda Scaravelli .

What happens in a class?

Everyone at any level of yoga practice is welcome.

  • We normally begin the class with breath awareness exercises and then we explore postures slowly, sometimes with dynamism and flow.

  • Embracing our inner and outer landscapes.

  • Exploring the connection to our feet and the earth.

  • Encouraging the body to undo itself from tension by creating and enjoying space.

  • The invitation is to be explorative; giving permission and time to feel your way through movements that unfold spontaneously, rather than pushing the body into shapes with force.
